Challenge
A large multinational leader in the Engineering, Construction & Industrial Components sector has entrusted Qintesi with a project aimed at integrating the Legal Entities of the German subgroup into its Group model, ensuring full adoption of local accounting principles (HGB). Despite the particular context determined by the pandemic, the technical/organizational complexities and the coordination difficulties of the international work team based between Germany and Italy, the project has fully achieved all the objectives set in compliance with the agreed times and costs.
Solution
The Roll in of the Legal Entities of the German subgroup was carried out by integrating all logistic processes, Management, Contract and IFRS Reporting into the Group’s SAP model and ensuring the complete adoption of local accounting principles (HGB) in compliance with German tax requirements.
The model implemented provides for the management of all business processes in an integrated and automatic way through SAP solutions in the following areas: Accounting and Finance (SAP FI), Controlling (SAP CO), Project Controlling (SAP PS), Supply Chain (SAP MM) , Sales and After Sales (SAP SD), Reporting AFC (SAP BW), Group Consolidation IFRS (SAP BPC), Business Planning and Consolidation (SAP BPC).
During the project, the interfaces with the numerous external Legacy systems (inbound and outbound) were also analyzed and implemented.
Results
- Implementation of local GAAP (HGB) in compliance with the AFC Group model and German tax requirements
- Greater control of the adoption of Group procedures by the German Legal Entities
- Harmonization of operational processes
- Normalization of the data model and management reporting
- Reduction of closing times
