Challenge
A leading client in the field of large infrastructure works, civil and industrial construction relied on Qintesi for functional and operational support aimed at the study and implementation of “equipment” management in Plant Maintenance (SAP PM-ETM).
The client requested our team to replace the current system in use and migrate it to SAP through the implementation of SAP PM-ETM modules.
In the customer’s system to be migrated, more than 4,000 active master records were recorded, aggregated into 33 groupings; the application, on the other hand, consisted of about 230 programs to be optimized on SAP.
Solution
Our project team successfully implemented the SAP ETM module, a vertical SAP solution aimed at managing construction site vehicles and equipment throughout their complete life cycle, from acquisition to retirement.
The team customized the SAP ETM module to ensure constant monitoring of equipment by supporting the client in key processes such as: rental, loan, scheduling, inter-site moves, settlement, fuel and toll management, cost allocation, scheduled and unscheduled maintenance.
The project made it possible to bring the processes within SAP due to the high integration provided by the ETM solution with the other modules: SD, PM, MM, CO, FI.
Results
- Management of vehicle and equipment master records; these are technical master records to which an SAP accounting master record may correspond, depending on the nature of the asset;
- Management of the movement of vehicles between construction sites (in SAP they are represented by WBS) and headquarters;
- Management of tolls, vignettes and insurance of vehicles;
- Management of long-term rental contracts;
- Management of consumption;
- Management of both routine and extraordinary maintenance.
